Because the default configuration for most builds in Visual Studio is to run in a 32-bit process, this first version of Spy++ is the one that is available on the Tools menu in Visual Studio, if required components are installed. Therefore, you can use Spy++ to display messages sent to Solution Explorer. For example, Visual Studio runs in a 32-bit process. The first version, named Spy++ (spyxx.exe), is designed to display messages sent to a window that is running in a 32-bit process. There are two other utilities that resemble Spy++: PView, which shows details about processes and threads, and DDESPY.EXE, which lets you monitor Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) messages. For example, if you right-click an entry in the Window view and the selected window is visible, then clicking Highlight on the shortcut menu causes the border of the selected window to flash so that it can be located more easily. Which commands are displayed depends on where the pointer is. In various Spy++ windows, you can right-click to display a shortcut menu of frequently used commands. Additionally, Spy++ lets you save and restore user preferences. It also provides a Refresh command to update the active view, a Window Finder Tool to make spying easier, and a Font dialog box to customize view windows. I like that I can offload this to the software and give the camera just the job of recording a quality image. The built in people and car detection in the software works great. I like that the software the cameras are in different windows I can manipulate them across the monitor window how I want without having to set to pre defined layouts. You ask a simple question and he gives you a detailed answer. I find the quality of the software to be outstanding and development is quite strong not to mention Ben the creator provides absolutely the best support I have ever come across on his Forum. I love the notifications I get the photo of motion on my watch instantly there is no delay. I think i am going to have to do some research into PullPointSubscription & SmartSentry then possibly just try out Blue Iris and see how I feel about it.Ĭlick to expand. For me yes as my whole home / family ecosystem is Apple so it has been handy for that purpose. (thus the idea of using a PC tower i have doing nothing at the moment). Then I would also need a add on external hard drive though. Right now I am running SecuritySpy on my iMac but was contemplating buying a mac mini to dedicate to it. See another positive I saw was using a small tower up next to my network switch would be easier for having larger storage space. From what aristobratsaid above if Blue Iris incorporated this would be amazing. Honestly I like security spy and never had a problem with it and the AI detection levels in it are very good. This was also one of the reasons I was starting to look at Blue Iris as an option after discovering it on this forum. It is ok for just a couple of cameras but when you start to get up to completely surrounding your house with cameras yes I fully agree the pricing structure is horrible. Click to expand.I had the previous version so paid for the discounted upgrade of SecuritySpy. ![]()
